Aaron Nola signed a seven-year, $172 million contract to return to the Phillies in 2024.

During the 2022 World Series, Nola started Game 1 and Game 4 for the Phillies, getting the no-decision in Game 1 after giving up five runs in five innings.  Though Nola gave up zero runs over 4 innings in Game 4, he would go on to load the bases in the 5th inning and was ultimately lifted.

While Nola gave up six runs in his season opener, he has allowed just three runs across 19 innings.  Philadelphia won each of the three.  His hits allowed total came in at 4.5 versus the lowly Chicago White Sox this day.  The over was priced as the -126 favorite (under was -104).

Of the sports handicappers monitored on the G911 Sports Hub, only SAS had a pick and was on the Phillies but this service has had mixed results of late and tends to post too many daily plays.

Per Winners and Whiners:

"Chicago is last in baseball in team batting average, team slugging percentage, team on-base percentage and in runs scored. The White Sox have scored just 38 runs in 19 games for an average of 2.0 runs per game while the White Sox pitching staff has a team ERA of 4.57. It is not surprising the White Sox have lost 16 of their first 19. Chicago continues to play without Yoan Moncada and Luis Robert Jr, who have been very productive at the plate in recent years for the White Sox."

The MLB odds featured a price of -285 for Nola and the Phillies.

Aaron Nola allowed just one run to go along with nine strikeouts in 7 1/3 innings against the Rockies on Monday.

Per NBC Edge:

"Nola looked much better in a game that didn’t have terrible weather. His fastball averaged about 92 MPH, which was up 1.4 MPH from his first three starts. Seven of his eight punch outs came on the curveball. The 30-year-old also made history becoming just the fourth Phillies pitcher to have 1,600 or more career strikeouts. Nola and J.T. Realmuto said last week that the weather was a factor during the pitcher’s outings and after tonight’s performance, Nola is back on track."

The Chicago White Sox have the Cleveland Guardians number and it is killing sports handicappers and gamblers alike.  We believe that changes today, but there is a price to pay.
