Reds slugger Elly De La Cruz went 0 for 3 with two strikeouts, but he walked in the ninth to reach safely for the 19th consecutive game dating to last season.  Disappointing for sure if you had the over hitting or the specific number of hits coming into Saturday's game.

Like with most batters, De La Cruz was listed with an 0.5 total coming into this game.  The under paid out $120 for every $100 bet.

As for home runs, 1+ would have paid out $500 on a $100 bet.

His specific hits came in at 1+ -157, 2+ paid $284 on a $100 bet and 3+ would have paid out $1041 for every $100 bet.

Yeah, none of that happened.

Friday was a different story altogether.

De La Cruz slugged a three-run home run in the five-run top of the third inning that helped the Reds put away the White Sox during Friday's 11-1 victory at Guaranteed Rate Field. The 22-year-old Cincinnati shortstop has four homers over his last four games.

“I’ve got the same mentality. I’m just looking for my pitch. I’m seeing the ball well," De La Cruz said.

De La Cruz is certainly helping the Reds to stay competitive as they were now 8-6 in the MLB.  Milwaukee and Pittsburgh have been on fire and both teams were 2.5 games ahead of the Reds.
