2008 NBA Draft odds were available from Sportsbook.com.  Carrie Stroup here and - yes - you can actually bet on the 2008 NBA Draft selection. 

Derrick Rose is the big 1-6 favorite to be selected with the #1 pick.  That means you would have to bet $6 to win $1 (if Derrick Rose is selected the #1 2008 NBA Draft pick you will receive your initial $6 wager back in addition to the $1).  A $12 bet pays $2.  An $18 bet pays $3 and so on.

Oh, but it's the other 2008 NBA Draft odds for the #1 pick that should draw some interest among Gambling911.com readers.  Brook Lopez pays 50 to 1.  Kevin Love pays $100 for every $1 bet.  Michael Beasley has some great value paying $3 for every $1 bet.  OJ Mayo pays 50 to 1 and the "field", which includes everyone else pays $25 for every $1 bet at Sportsbook.com

Regarding Michael Beasley, John Hollinger of ESPN.com writes:

Beasley's rating is the highest of any player going back to 2002, and it's the best by a pretty sizable margin. Obviously, this isn't new information -- nobody doubts this guy's talent level.

But he might be even better than people realize. His numbers were superior even to Kevin Durant's from a year ago, and Durant had everyone gaga over his performance as a college freshman.

Somehow Beasley didn't resonate quite as strongly, perhaps because of concerns over his character, but if he keeps his head on straight he's going to be insanely good.

Kevin Love would present an awesome payout for gamblers if he were to somehow be named a first round pick. 

Scott Howard Cooper of the Sacramento Bee:

Such a talented passer that he already is being compared to the best big men ever in that category, a physical presence inside combined with a soft shooting touch. But he plays below the rim, and he's not nearly athletic enough. He's bound to get shots blocked and lose out on rebounds an impact power forward should get.

Sportsbook has betting odds specific to where Kevin Love will be selected with 2/3 the favorite he will be chosen as the 5th Draft pick.

Sportsbook.com also has 2008 NBA Draft odds on the 4th, 5th and 6th picks (in that order).  Bayless - Lopez - Mayo pay 6/1 odds.  Switch Mayo and Lopez around and the payout is still 6/1.
