Annie Duke Going for Gold at WSOP!

UltimateBet’s very own Annie Duke has made her way through the ranks to her first final table of the 2008 WSOP.  Beating out a number of professional poker players, including her very own brother Howard Lederer, Annie now finds herself sitting in the hot seat against the likes of Chris Ferguson and Marcel Luske to name a couple.

With a field of 261 players and a prize pool at an impressive $1,226,700, the World Championship Seven Card Stud Hi-Low Split – 8 or Better will prove to be a final table to follow!  After a grueling 2nd day lasting over 16 hours, the exhausted final table players will no doubt have to get their heads in the game and come back today on a mission to win!

In early 2004, Duke received considerable publicity for tutoring actor Ben Affleck, who then went on to win the 2004 California State Poker Championship.  Before this time, one of her claims to poker fame was her 10th place finish in the 2000 World Series of Poker main event (one position short of the final table) while eight months pregnant with her third child.  In the 2004 World Series of Poker she also eliminated her brother Howard Lederer from four separate events, including the Tournament of Champions. During this same World Series, she won her first gold bracelet, in an Omaha Hi-Lo tournament. She was one of three women (Kathy Liebert and Cyndy Violette being the other two) to win an open event in that year's WSOP.

Ms. Duke's total career winnings come in at just over $1.4 million.

UltimateBet and all of her fans wish Annie Duke the best of luck!  Check out UltimateBet.com
