David Chiu Poker Profile

Gambling911.com's Jenny Woo loves that her fellow Asian poker players are ranked so well thus far this year, and she certainly wouldn't mind going out on a date with David Chiu, who so far has amassed well over $5,800,000 during his poker career and $3,460,932 for 2008.  CardPlayer.com ranks David Chiu as the 4th best "Player of the Year".

Based in Rowland Heights, California, who has won four World Series of Poker bracelets and is the winner of the 2008 World Poker Tour's WPT World Championship.  He has had 7 first place finishes.

From PokerPages.com:

David Chiu, a native of China, is a former restaurant owner from Colorado. He then took a second job as a poker dealer, later a tournament specialist, before winning his first major tournament. Known for his ability to read other players, Chiu is considered one of the worlds best limit hold'em players. He credits a certain amount of his reading and concentration abilities to a swimming accident that left him partially deaf in both ears. "I was a poker dealer at the Gilpin Hotel in Black Hawk," he's said. "And I would see how people reacted to their hands, the way they looked at their cards. A lot of people squeeze their cards when they really like their hand. I paid attention. I tried to turn my hearing weakness into a strength."
