Fedor Emelianenko vs.Tim Sylvia

Golden Boy Affliction Banned betting odds were being offered by SBG Global on a Saturday evening that will feature a number of major fight events.  There is a correction in that Miguel Angel Cotto  (-225) vs. Antonio Margarito (+175 with a payout potential of nearly $200 for every $100 bet) will take place July 26.

A UFC counter attack featuring a heavily favored Anderson Silva (-600) vs. James Irwin will be broadcast Saturday July 19 opposite Affliction.

For gamblers, the fight of the night will be either Affliction Banned with Fedor Emelianenko a -400 favorite.

"It's pretty obvious the UFC is having fits over Affliction Banned," points out Payton O'Brien, Operations Manager for Gambling911.com.  "To put there event up against Affliction is rather classless."

Tim Sylvia would pay out $300 for every $100 bet if he were to somehow pull off a win against Fedor.

Not impossible writes Jeff Zillgitt of USA Today:

Despite Emelianenko's 27-1 record, the quality of his opponents have been questioned. He also has fought just six times in the past three years and twice in the past 15 months.

Sylvia (24-4, 16 knockouts) isn't discrediting Emelianenko's record. "He's a bad dude.... Every time they put somebody in front of him, he beats him," Sylvia said.

Iowa State: Are They The Underdogs To Look For In March Madness?

They may be defined as “underdogs” or “Cinderella teams”, a term that is usually saved for teams that have little to no chance of winning even a single game during the NCAA Tournament. Teams like Loyola Marymount (1990), George Mason (2006), Davidson (2008), VCU (2011), UConn (2014), and Loyola Chicago (2018) come to mind when conversations turn toward the most surprising tournament runs in recent memory.
