Miss Belgium Has Miss Universe Oddsmakers Drooling

Odds favor Miss Belgium winning mega pageant

Belgium is known for waffles, great artists, chocolate, exotic beers and it was the scene of Napoleon's final defeat.  Suddenly the European nation is being propelled into the elite category dominated by Venezuela, Puerto Rico, The USA, Mexico and Columbia.

Miss Belgium - Alizee Poulicek - is very likely to hit the single digits prior to the airing of July 13th heavily bet on Miss Universe Pageant.  At press time Miss Belgium was listed with +1200 odds at Bookmaker.com.  The online gambling website was forced to add Miss Universe 2008 betting as a separate text link under its Entertainment Betting category due to heavy demand already more than one week ahead of airing.

"Traffic and inquiries suggest this is going to be one of the hottest betting events of the year," commented Gambling911.com Operations Manager, Payton O'Brien.

And many bets are sure to come in on Miss Belgium - a country that has hardly registered in past Miss Universe competitions.

"She is my personal value pick provided she doesn't waffle through the talent competition," O'Brien added.

Jenny Woo, Gambling911.com's enterprising Senior Correspondent, along with Cuban transgender entertainment reporter, Sparky Collins, will be reporting extensively on the pageant just as they did last year.

"I will keep everyone guessing as to whether Miss Belgium shows up on my Hot Top 10 Miss Universe list," says Woo.  That list is due out by early next week.

Odds are - she will be though.

So you are probably asking yourselves: What does Miss Belgium like to do in her spare time?  The answer....Pretty much everything.

"I like to do sports, such as horse riding, running, fitness, dancing and skiing. Also I like to read, travel, to discover new things, new people, new countries and cultures. Additionally, I like music and cinema."

Only six other contestants have shorter odds than Alizee including fellow European Miss Czech Republic.

The others are regular staples mentioned above: Venezuela being the +625 favorite at Bookmaker.com.  Miss Puerto Rico comes in with +750 odds.  Miss Panama was listed with +900 odds.  Miss USA had +900 odds.  Miss Columbia had +1000 odds and Miss Mexico had the same odds as Miss Belgium, +1200 for the potential to pay out $1200 for every $100 bet.  It should be noted that Miss India has gotten enough early action to push her to +1100 odds.

This year's Miss Universe will come to us from Vietnam and is going to be hosted by none other than Jerry Springer and Mel B.
