ALCS Game 1: New York Yankees vs. Texas Rangers

ALCS Game 1 New York Yankees vs. Texas Rangers Odds were set at Yankees -145 with the total at 8.5 UNDER.  This one goes off Friday, 8:05 pm Eastern – TBS

The American League Championship Series begins on Friday night in Texas as the Rangers host the New York Yankees in Game 1.  It will be CC Sabathia going for New York while C.J. Wilson gets the start for the Rangers.  This will be the first-ever ALCS for the Rangers but they do have the home field advantage in this seven-baseball game series that has a 2-3-3 format.

The Rangers will not be able to send Cliff Lee to the mound until Game 3 in New York so they will have to find a way to at least win one of their first two home games.  In the ALDS the Rangers lost both games at home against Tampa Bay but they won all three on the road.  Lee was a big reason they won. He is now 6-0 with a 1.44 ERA in his baseball playoff career.  Since he can’t go in Game 1 the Rangers really need C.J. Wilson to step up. He had a great year as he won 15 games and the Rangers were 24-9 in his starts.  He was great in Game 2 against the Rays and is capable of winning this game on Friday night.

The Yankees send CC Sabathia in Game 1 and he is as good as any pitcher in baseball on the big stage.  The Yankees have decided to go with Phil Hughes in Game 2 and then pitch Andy Pettitte in Game 3 and A.J. Burnett in Game 4.

Here are the baseball betting statsfor Friday’s game. The Yankees are 4-1 in their last 5 playoff road games. The Yankees are 1-4 in the last 5 meetings in Texas. The Yankees are 2-9 in their last 11 games vs. a left-handed starter. The Yankees are 19-7 in Sabathia’s last 26 starts as a road favorite. The Rangers are 1-4 in their last 5 home games. The Rangers are 15-3 in Wilson’s last 18 home starts.

The Over is 6-1-1 in the Yankees last 8 playoff road games. The Under is 5-1 in the Rangers last 6 vs. the American League East. The Over is 9-4-2 in the Rangers last 15 home games. The Under is 3-1-1 in Wilson’s last 5 starts overall.
