PITCHING MATCHUP: Cubs LH Mike Montgomery (4-5, 2.41 ERA) vs. Dodgers RH Bud Norris (6-10, 4.69)

Montgomery was acquired from Seattle on July 20 and has gone 1-0 with a 0.87 ERA in his last five games covering 10 1/3 innings.

Norris is 5-5 with a 3.39 ERA in 12 career games (11 starts) against the Cubs, including seven innings of one-run ball June 10 as a member of the Braves.

Jon Lester, pitching Sunday, has allowed Dodgers batters to hit just 16 off of 98 at bats with a single home run over that period.

Lester has not allowed more than two runs in six of his last seven starts so hard to believe that trend will be altered facing the Dodgers based on his success against them and the series UNDER trend.

Kenta Maeda (13-7) has allowed no more than 3 runs in six of his last seven starts.

TAKE THE UNDER IF 6.5 OR HIGHER SUNDAY.

The Cubs have scored three or more runs in each of their past 23 games but the UNDER is 10-1 in the last eleven meetings.  The last nine games in this series have gone UNDER the Friday total of 8.
