THURSDAY’S PITCHING MATCHUP: Mariners LH James Paxton (4-5, 3.53 ERA) vs. White Sox RH Anthony Ranaudo (1-1, 9.42)

Paxton made his only career start against Chicago on Aug. 9, 2014, when he settled for a no-decision after giving up one run and six hits over 6 1/3 frames.

Ranaudo has yielded eight runs and 10 hits - four homers - over 10 2/3 frames in his two outings with Chicago.

Chris Sale, starting for the White Sox on Friday, has been red hot against current Mariners batters, allowing just 20 hits off of 101 at bats and two home runs.  Saturday marked Sale's first victory since July 2, ending a six-game winless streak

The White Sox were coming in as a -129 home favorite on Friday.

Seattle is just 13-40 in the last 53 meetings in Chicago.
