You can bet the Red Sox-Yankees series Friday through Sunday with a Game 1 line of -140 for the Yankees, +130 for Boston and a high total of 9.5. *These odds could change due to a possible pitching change on the Boston side.

The Red Sox have won eight of the last ten games in this series though New York has won two of the last three.

Boston has won seven of their last ten games overall and six of seven heading into the All Star Break.  New York won half of their last ten and continue to hover at the .500 mark while Boston owns a 49-38 record.

Knowing the edge Boston has had over New York, Steven Wright of Boston will take to the mound Friday having allowed a mere 9 hits in 65 at bats versus the current Yankees roster. That’s a .138 average against New York, the best pitching performance of any scheduled starters this weekend.

He allowed 18 runs over his last 15.2 innings pitched but was solid before this poor showing.

Michael Pineda (3-8, 5.38) lost his last start after giving up five runs.  He had allowed just a single run in each of his previous two starts. He also permitted two runs each in his two starts against Boston this season.
