The Cleveland Cavs will be one of the most bet on teams in the NBA no matter how cold they might get.  Savvy gamblers will want to know if they are a wise wager right now.  Gambling911.com has its take.

February 14, 2016 Cavs Betting Update

The Cleveland Cavaliers are a solid 37-16 Straight Up on the season but still a few games below the .500 mark Against The Spread.  Over the course of their last ten games the Cavs had won seven and covered in half of those ten.

In the next five games on the schedule ahead of the game in Minnesota, Cleveland covered the spread in four of the last five meetings against those opponents, failing to do so versus Chicago in a 94-106 loss at home.  They play the Bulls on February 25.

Cleveland Cavaliers Status

Always check in to see if the Cavs coach intends to sit his top starters.  It’s a strategy he has employed twice already this season in an effort to rest his players and ensure their health ahead of the Playoffs.  The Cavs rested their top players a few days ago in Oklahoma City and the oddsmakers adjusted the line accordingly for that game, one in which they not only lost, but also failed to cover.

Cleveland holds a two-game advantage over Boston with 29 games left.

A Critical Injury Report

Love is expected to miss six weeks after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his left knee.  They are already without JR Smith.

The Verdict

A bet on the Cavs is not advised at this time.  In fact, we here at Gambling911.com were pretty much of the mindset that Tuesday night’s -4.5-point line in Minnesota was nothing more than a “sucker bet”, especially with nearly 95 percent of the action on Cleveland (that percentage had dropped to 86 percent by late afternoon, though so too did the line).  The books did take a hit with this one as Cleveland managed to cover in the final minutes despite a close game throughout.

“Anytime you lose an All-Star who’s been playing great, it’s tough, especially when you’ve lost a couple players already, but it’s the ‘Next Man Up’ mentality for our team,” Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue said. “It’s no excuses. We know that losing a great player like Kevin is tough, but we’ve got to man up and the next guy’s got to be ready to play.”
