American Idol is back on top again after getting beat out by the Winter Olympics last week.  It was the first time the Fox singing contest had lost in the ratings.  But here are numbers that won't exactly make one shed a tear.  Idol is 223-1 in the ratings since it first launched.

Fox averaged almost 24 million viewers and a 8.9 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic (each rating point in that demographic equals 1.3 million viewers). NBC averaged 20.8 million viewers and a 5.05 rating in the 18-49 demographic going head-to-head against "American Idol," and overall had 21.2 million viewers and a 5.4 rating in the demographic.

Unfortunately the talent pool this year doesn't seem very impressive.

Online gambling websites are looking to cash in on the show but offering odds on which Idol will ultimately win.

Andrew Garcia was the initial favorite to win American Idol this season but with relatively long odds of 4-1.

He took Fall Out Boy's breakout hit single "Sugar, We're Going Down" and turned it into a decent acoustic version, but even that was not memorable when compared to Idol performances of the past, including Garcia's own audition version of Paula Abdul's "Straight Up".
