As a near even favorite to win this season's installment of American Idol, Crystal Bowersox is beginning to push away from the pack.  She wowed them this week (see American Idol odds under ENTERTAINMENT at BetUS.com here)

Crystal Bowersox was brought to tears on "American Idol."

The 24-year-old musician and single mother from Toledo, Ohio, was overcome with emotion at the conclusion of The Impressions' "People Get Ready" on the Fox singing competition Tuesday. Bowersox told "Idol" host Ryan Seacrest that her father's presence in the audience during the night of inspirational songs prompted her unexpected crying.

Kara DioGuardi told Bowersox that she "schooled all those contestants."

There is one caveat, however, when it comes to betting:  Bowersox had reportedly considered leaving American Idol a few weeks back.

TMZ.com reported that Bowersox wanted to leave to be with her family. Thankfully, Ryan Seacrest talked her out of leaving, reminding her that she could get a recording contract out of the show and make some money for her fam.

Ryan reportedly told Crystal: "The greatest thing I ever did was make enough money so I could buy my mom a house. You can buy your mom a house."
