All Bets Off for Packers as Nelson Likely has Torn ACL: DFS Door Opens for Adams

Initial reports have Green Bay Packers star wide receiver suffering a torn ACL during a preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.  Favored to win the 2016 Super Bowl, the likely loss of Nelson could prove detrimental to futures bettors and season long Fantasy owners alike.

The Packers had been listed as 5-1 to 6-1 favorites to win the 2016 Super Bowl coming into Sunday.  Slightly more than 10% of Super Bowl futures wagers were being placed on the Packers across the board.

Nelson went up to make a catch during the first quarter of the Packers-Steelers Week 2 preseason game then hit the ground and was seen clutching his leg.  No contact was made during the play.

The Packers organization awaited results of an MRI to determine the extent of Nelson’s injury.

The likely beneficiary for Daily Fantasy players will be Davante Adams.  He has the talent, and seemingly the work ethic to become a serious factor in the Green Bay offense in 2015, notes FFToday.com.

At season’s close into the Playoffs this past January you could find Adams priced around $6000 at Star Fantasy Leagues.  Compare that to Jordy Nelson at closer to $9000.
