Ben Roethlisberger Daily Fantasy Football Outlook – 2015

Ben Roethlisberger’s Daily Fantasy Football outlook for 2015 was pretty good with an approximate price of $8200 at DraftKings.

Using this salary, Roethlisberger cost just $146 per point against the Colts, for whom he topped 50 fantasy points against last season (8200/56).  He would have cost dearly against Baltimore in Week 2: $482 per point (8200/17).

Roethlisberger finished ranked a surprising number 5 among fantasy quarterbacks last season.  His 295+ fantasy points last season were helped along by his back-to-back 6 touchdown games, which essentially accounted for 79 of those 295 points.

Pittsburgh will be facing a grueling schedule, among the worst in the league.  Twelve of their 16 games are against teams who finished .500 or better last season.  Ouch! Still it is interesting to note that the oddsmakers give the Steelers a price of -140 to win OVER 8.5 regular season games (not bad considering this schedule).

Roethlisberger an Absolute Stud at Home
You will want to consider Roethlisberger in games when he is playing at home.  Under these circumstances it might be wiser to select Roethlisberger over higher priced studs QBs like Andrew Luck, Peyton Manning and Drew Brees.  In all but one home game last season, Roethlisberger scored approximately 27 or more fantasy points at DraftKings.  In four of those he exceeded the 30 fantasy point mark or nearly four times his value.

When to Consider Roethlisberger

September 20 - San Francisco should be a shell of its former self in Week 2 at Pittsburgh so Roethlisberger is a relatively safe bet here though there’s not a whole lot of history to back this option up.

October 18 – By the time this date comes around we’ll have a good idea where Arizona stands.  A vulnerable defense, don’t hesitate to pull the trigger.  Heading into this season we would give this one a 60% probability of Roethlisberger enjoying success. Arizona is a favorite to win 9 games or more during the regular season.

November 1 – We love taking Roethlisberger at home against Cincinnati (at least early on in the season).  He scored nearly 30 fantasy points against them at home last year.  This was the only team he exceeded his current value on the road last season.

November 8 – Against the Raiders, Roethlisberger should be able to put up substantial numbers.  He made his current value on the road against Oakland two years ago.

November 15 – Cleveland is a decent bet playing in Pittsburgh but by this time watch Roethlisberger’s price.  If he is closer to $9000 and the Browns are playing decent Football, this one may need to be a pass.

December 6 – You cannot afford NOT to have Roethlisberger on your roster this day.  He scored well over 50 fantasy points against the Colts at home last season.  Even if he scores half that number, Roethlisberger is still going over value.

When to Avoid Roethlisberger

Do not consider Roethlisberger on the road.  He only exceeded value once on the road (that was against the Bengals).
