LSU vs. Georgia Odds and Betting Preview

LSU vs. Georgia odds were listed at -3 ½ at Sportsbetting.com.  While Georgia had slightly more backing, this game was relatively even in terms of betting action overall though more than 90 percent of the money line action was going Louisiana State's way with the promise of a $14.50 payout on every $10 bet should they win outright

Odds on this game opened at Georgia -1.  95 percent of the online sportsbooks were offering the -3 ½ point line.  Most books had moved to -3 already by Tuesday.

Scouts.com believes this will be a close affair, falling right around the line:

"Mobile quarterbacks have given LSU's defense problems this year but the Tigers are built to slow down a pro-style running attack like the one Georgia runs. The LSU defense will consistently put Cox in situations with pass-heavy tendencies, which will allow the front four to fly upfield and Chavis to dictate the coverage. Cox will make some mistakes that open the door for LSU and the Tigers will take advantage. While a tough Georgia defense will help keep the score close, Jefferson's ability to create with his feet will allow LSU to sustain longer drives. In the end it will be enough for the Tigers to eke out another tough road win."

Georgia has won the last three in this series and are 6-4 overall.  The home team has won 7 of 10.  It should be noted that the Bulldogs dismantled the Tigers in all three of the last victories.  In two of those games, Georgia was the underdog and in a 45-16 beating they were only a -3 favorite back in 2004.  Past head-to-head trends certainly favor the Bulldogs winning.

LSU vs. Georgia Odds trends include:

The Tigers are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 games after accumulating less than 100 yards rushing in their previous game.

The Tigers are 10-3-1 ATS in their last 14 games as an underdog of 3.5-10.0.

The Tigers are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games following a ATS loss.

The Tigers are 5-16 ATS in their last 21 games on grass.

The Tigers are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games following a S.U. win.

The Bulldogs are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. win.

The Bulldogs are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games as a home favorite.

The Bulldogs are 1-8 ATS in their last 9 games as a favorite.

Past head-to-head results and betting trends that do not favor LSU has Gambling911.com feeling very confident about Georgia at -3 ½, even though we would rather have had them at the early -1 line.  This is our pick, Georgia Bulldogs -3 ½.
