MN Gov: ‘Adrian Peterson Shouldn’t Play’, Fantasy Players: ‘Gov Go **** Yourself

Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton wants Vikings running back Adrian Peterson suspended after he was charged with child endangerment in Texas.  Fantasy players, many of whom were stung by the Vikings decision not to play Peterson last week, can’t be too thrilled with Davis’ proclamations following the team’s decision to reinstate their star player.  Scroll Down For More...

"It is an awful situation," Dayton said in a statement provided to The Associated Press. "Yes, Mr. Peterson is entitled to due process and should be 'innocent until proven guilty.' However, he is a public figure; and his actions, as described, are a public embarrassment to the Vikings organization and the state of Minnesota. Whipping a child to the extent of visible wounds, as has been alleged, should not be tolerated in our state. Therefore, I believe the team should suspend Mr. Peterson, until the accusations of child abuse have been resolved by the criminal justice system.

"However, I will not turn my back on the Vikings and their fans, as some have suggested. The Vikings belong to Minnesota -- and in Minnesota. This has been the team's only home, and our citizens, including myself, have been its most dedicated fans."

Peterson was among the highest ranked Fantasy selections this season.

FantasyPros.com offers up the following suggestion to those planning to utilize Peterson as part of their Fantasy team:

The Wilf's pointed out that they believe that this a matter of due process and "we should allow the legal system to determine the appropriate course of action." They also said they will continue to monitor the situation closely and support Adrian's fulfillment of his legal responsibilities throughout this process. Will all that being said I put AP in your Week 3 starting lineup, but pay attention to how much the Vikings plan to use him as the week progresses.

Meanwhile, Minnesota would pay out 10-1 odds to win the NFC North at Sportsbook.ag.  Following Week 1’s game in St. Louis – not to mention their preseason dominance – the Vikings were all the rage.  All the teams in this division are 1-1 with Minnesota at least having an excuse for their Week 2 loss.   The favored Packers nearly lost to the Jets at home.
