Betting Preview Brief

While we here at Gambling911.com come into this season excited about the Browns chances of perhaps climbing over the .500 mark in 2017, none of the three teams in the AFC North appear anywhere close to as good as this Steelers squad.

Off Season Moves And Impact

Le'Veon Bell will not be returning, but the remaining squad is good enough that this probably won’t be too painful.

Justis Mosqueda of SettingEdge.com writes of the Steelers:

As long as Tom Brady is still a Patriot and Ben Roethlisberger is still a Steeler, you should go into the season rightfully assuming that one of those two will be playing in the Super Bowl. This year should be no different.  The Steelers won 7 games by more than a touchdown last year, the second-best mark in the NFL the Patriot’s 10.

Their head coach, general manager, offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator and quarterback return. The only two major free agents they lost were receiver Markus Wheaton, who signed a two-year, $11 million contract with the Chicago Bears after a four-reception 2016, and linebacker Lawrence Timmons, who signed a two-year, $12 million contract with the Miami Dolphins as a now 31-year-old.

They scored at least slightly above average in passing offense, rushing offense, passing defense and rushing defense in 2016, and they brought virtually everyone back. Any way you spin it, they look like a legitimate Super Bowl contender.

Jets 2017: What to Bet

While winning a Super Bowl bet is never easy entering a new season – especially when there is a team probably better than the Steelers in the New England Patriots, a wager on Pittsburgh to win Super bowl 52 at 13/1 odds has value.  To win the AFC North, even at -140, is probably a “safer” bet.
