It feels like only yesterday that per head solutions websites like AcePerHead.com were gearing up for the start of the NFL season, and now we have just crossed the midway point of the season. It has definitely been an eventful first half of the season, with lots of big plays, thrilling moments and sweating of games.

The biggest surprise so far this season, has to be the success of the Philadelphia Eagles who have the best record in the league and are sitting pretty atop the NFC East at 8-1. They have been pretty dominant this season, and their latest addition of running back Jay Ajayi should only make them better.† The one silver lining for the Eagles is that they have had one of the easier schedules in the league so far.† So it will be interesting to see how they fair in their next few games against teams like the Cowboys, Seahawks, and Rams.

The other surprise team has been the New Orleans Saints which have won their last 6 games in a row and are sitting in first place of the NFC South at 6-2. Drew Brees has been his regular Hall of Fame self, however, the biggest thing for the Saints have been their defense which has been very good and only letting up 19.4 points per game. This is the type of recipe that the Saints have been looking for in quite some time, which makes them a serious contender now.

Then you have the usual suspects of teams that are doing well this season such as the Patriots, Steelers, Chiefs, and Seahawks. These teams are all winning games, and the scary part is neither of them has even been playing their best football. The thing that all these teams have in common is that they are all getting excellent play from their QB, which is the name of the game in the NFL.

There is still a full half a season to play, so you can bet that the excitement and betting action is only going to ramp up as the season progresses. You can also count on a few more surprises to be in store as well.
