The Falcons vs. Patriots betting odds had New England as a -3 favorite at home.  This is a rematch of Super Bowl 51 and is without argument the Game of the Week with LIVE IN-PLAY WAGERING available here.

Just shy of 60% of the betting action was on Atlanta here with a line that was moving from -4.5 to -3.  Some books were holding at -3.5.  We actually found the line on this game should be New England -5.5.

The score was NE 3, ATL 28 in the third quarter of last February’s Super Bowl before the Patriots came back to win it.  Atlanta faced a similar situation last week against Miami, which they shut out in the first half only to have the Dolphins come back and win that one.

"We've been given really highly strict rules that we are not allowed to talk about that game, so you're not really going to get any information from anyone about that, so I'm just looking forward to this week," New England's Rob Gronkowski said Wednesday. "They look good on film. They're a fast team, a physical team, and it's going to be a tough game coming this Sunday night."

Atlanta center Alex Mack said Wednesday, "I think you'd look at the Super Bowl just because that's the last time you looked at the opponent and it's valuable because it's their scheme versus our scheme. You can learn from what we did well, what they did well.

"Also, it's a new year and you've got to look at the newest tape. I will definitely watch the Super Bowl again, and I will watch their latest games just to see who's on their team now, how are they playing, what are they doing. What works? What doesn't work?"

The Patriots have had their own problems, losing twice at home this season and nearly giving another home game away to the Texans.  A controversial call helped the Patriots to overcome the New York Jets last week in what was otherwise a close game.

The Patriots were still the favorite to win Super Bowl 52 but at 4/1 odds while Atlanta was coming in at much longer 14/1 odds.
