Favorites this season include the Oklahoma Sooners, with 10-1 odds of winning the national title and a price of -130 to win the Big 12 title.

Baylor had the next shortest odds of winning the national title at 20/1 and were offering some value at 3/1 to win the Big 12.

All other schools were 100-1 or greater odds long shots to win the national title and 8/1 or greater odds long shots of winning the Big 12.  Texas was the only other school listed with single digit odds of winning the conference at 8/1.

In regard to the Sooners:

The Sooners have 16 returning starters and a very favorable schedule. They'll look to build on their Sugar Bowl victory over Alabama. Quarterback Trevor Knight will run the offense, and the front seven on defense are expected to be among the best in the nation.

In regard to the Sooners:

In regard to the Bears:

The Bears are coming off their first outright conference title since 1980, and with an offense as elite as the one they have, they will challenge for it again this season. Their QB Bryce Petty is a dark-horse candidate for the Heisman Trophy, but the team's defense will be the key. Baylor must improve on the 360.2 yards per game allowed last season.

In regard to the Longhorns:

There has been a changing of the guard in Austin. Longtime head coach Mack Brown resigned in December, and Charlie Strong will now take over after coming over from Louisville. Strong's first year may be a bit of a bumpy road with question marks along the offensive line. The front four will be the strength of the defense, led by defensive end Cedric Reed, who is coming off a 10-sack season in 2013.
