Thanks to the Victorian Government allowing Crown Casino to grow in exchange for an estimated $60 million in extra tax revenue over four years came on the day of the Federal Budget, the casino enterprise is expected to see mega growth over this period and not everyone in Australia is thrilled.

Fingers are being pointed at Premier John Brumby who is accused of having privately held discussions with Crown Casino boss, James Packer, discussed the deal in private recently, according to ABC:

Mr Brumby rejects suggestions that was a deliberate ploy to avoid scrutiny.

"So I know there's a bit of a debate about when this was released, when it was released and so on, fact is, it was released as soon as it was signed," he said.

Now the scrutiny has turned to how the deal was negotiated.

Mr Brumby has faced questions over whether he discussed the agreement with Mr Packer when the two met face to face six weeks ago.

Mr Brumby is not going into details.

"I spoke to James Packer at the Grand Prix, but there were lots of people at the Grand Prix, you saw me in the room there, there was no secret, and you know, I had a broad discussion about the world with him," he said.

"And beyond that I wouldn't go into any private details of any discussion, wouldn't expect me to."

An extra 150 blackjack, roulette and poker tables will be installed at the casino in exchange for a substantial increase in poker machine taxes.
