Algorithms Early Odds to Win 2012 Kentucky Derby Have Him at 8-1

An early look at the 2012 Kentucky Derby odds finds that Algorithms was an 8-1 favorite at BetOnline.com and it remains to be seen whether this price will hold up.  BetOnline.com is the place to bet horses online with all the latest race odds and a 7 percent track rebate – Head-to-head horse matchups offered every day.

Brian Mulligan of BetOnline.com offered his take on why Algorithms would be favored this early in the game.

According to Wynn, Algorithms chimes in an 8-1 on the Kentucky Derby Future Book line and even though this horse is a monster and going great guns, there is a long way to go to hit pay dirt but the fact he is tabbed at single digits is significant.

The son of Bernardini has been brilliant since Day One. He was bet like a good thing in his debut and drew off for fun. Given time to recoup, the Todd Pletcher student was professional winning his final start of 2011 and he improved again on the Beyer scale winning the Holy Bull at Gulfstream the end of January by 5 facile lengths with a 105 Beyer.

The figure was slop aided, but the blood sure is there for this guy to shine. He is bred to go long on both sides of the pedigree and if a surface comes up off, this runner is bred to adore the off going.

Three of his siblings won at least $298,000, two carried speed successfully routing and the Graded winner that did not was beaten a neck routing.
The next likely spot for Algorithms is either the Fountain of Youth the end of this month, or the Florida Derby on March 31.  If this one stays healthy and that’s a big if, he will be a handful.
