Irish War Cry Early Odds to Win the 2017 Belmont Stakes

Irish War Cry was listed at near 7-1 odds of winning this year’s Belmont Stakes race with a payout potential of $70 for every $10 bet or $700 for every $100 bet.

Irish War Cry has a few wins under his belt already including the Holy Bull and the Wood Memorial but failed to make an impact in this year’s Kentucky Derby despite being among the early favorites to win.  It should be noted, however, that he drew the worst post position, one that has never yielded a winner.

He beat Gunnevera and Classic Empire in the Holy Bull Stakes in February, then finished seventh and 21 lengths behind Gunnevera in the Fountain of Youth Stakes his next race.

Irish War Cry then killed it in the Wood Memorial.  One can only assume that the Fountain of Youth was an off day for this horse as was the Kentucky Derby.
