Pants On Fire 2011 Kentucky Derby Odds

Pants On Fire 2011 Kentucky Derby odds were coming in at +2700 or 27/1 at Bookmaker.com.   He is racing from the number 7 post position.

Trainer Kelly Breen:“Lucky number seven, what’s not to know? I like the post position, I like what some of the other speed horses got. I think we’re in an ideal spot and we like our post position draw.  The quarter’s going to go, probably, sub-24, so no matter what you have to have a little bit of gas coming out of the gate. We’re hoping that we’re going to be forwardly placed and we have the horse right inside of us, Comma to the Top, is a pretty good draw to be right outside of him. We were looking for positives and we see them right away so that’s a pretty good sign we got a good draw.”

Pants On Fire won the Louisiana Derby, beating one of the Kentucky Derby favorites, Nehro.   He has seven two-turn races under his belt at four different tracks.

Unfortunately, Pants On Fire has a reputation for getting off to a good lead, then being outpaced at the finish.  The Kentucky Derby will be just his second start in 11 weeks.
