The best mudder for what should be a soaked 2016 Preakness Stakes track is Exaggerator, whose odds were showing signs of dipping below 3-1.

Exaggerator appeared to relish the mud winning the Santa Anita Derby earlier in the year.

Track conditions may be the only thing that can push Exaggerator ahead of Preakness Stakes favorite Nyquist (near EVEN odds).

Exaggerator is 0 for 4 against Nyquist. His trainer, Keith Desormeaux, is 0 for 8 against the undefeated Kentucky Derby winner.

“We’re not wishing for one track over another,” Desormeaux said, “I prefer to have my picture taken in the sun.”

Hard to believe this is the case.  We suspect Desormeaux is praying for the rain.

A half inch is expected to fall on the track by post time.
