$31,156 in Pot Limit Omaha Timed Cash Game Awarded by Americas Cardroom

San Jose, Costa Rica – This Thanksgiving Day, seven players are waking up with a lot to be thankful for. In last night's installment of The Cage PLO, seven players emerged from the time-based cash game with a total of $115,000 in cash. The top player, poof9, walked away with $31,156 in cash.

After two successful Cage events for Texas Hold'em players, Americas Cardroom switched gears yesterday and held a version just for Pot Limit Omaha players. A total of 23 players took part in the event. With a $5,100 buy-in, the total prize pool was pushed up to $115,000, and unprecedented amount for a PLO cash game.

However, players weren't playing for a distributed prize pool like they would in a normal tournament. Much like any other cash games, they were playing for the exact value of their chip stack.

The time-based cash game combined the excitement of a poker tournament with the adrenaline rush of a cash game. Poker players who entered the cash game did so with 5,000 in chips, with each one holding a real dollar value.

The Cage participants had just four hours to dropkick their way to victory. Once a player busted out, it was game over. Surviving players walked away with the value of their chip stack. Players proof9 ($31,156), jezebelle3 ($22,263) and The Taxman ($20,182) were the top 3 winners when the clock counted down to zero.

Americas Cardroom made this installment of The Cage PLO extra special by awarding thousands of dollars in prizes to those who railed the event, which was broadcast live online. The live streaming was conducted by Winning Poker Network's CEO and several players who followed it won a Winning Millions seat, valued at $540.

The stream was a huge success and players had an opportunity to interact live and chat with WPN's CEO. Future events like The Cage will continue to have this new element in an attempt to promote friendly interaction between the network's customers and the man behind the wheel.
