Tom Dwan Mum Over Full Tilt Poker Breakup: Could Have to do With Play History

Poker pro Tom Dwan recently cut ties with Full Tilt Poker and the breakup does not appear, at least on the surface, to have been amicable.

Sotirios Koutoupas Wins EPT Deauville 2014 for €614,000

Sotirios Koutoupas has won EPT Deauville for €614,000 and become the first ever Greek EPT champion.

Koutoupas, who was runner-up to Ramzi Jelassi at EPT9 Prague, beat Team PokerStars Pro Eugene Katchalov heads-up today thus thwarting the Ukrainian’s bid to secure poker’s Triple Crown. Katchalov, 32, already has a WSOP and WPT title and came close to an EPT title when he finished third in Barcelona in Season 8. He got €379,500 for second place.

Final Eight of EPT Deauville High Roller Determined

Lebanese player Albert Daher is chip leader for the final of the record-breaking EPT Deauville €10k High Roller. Daher has 1,300,000, nearly twice as much as his nearest rival – EPT Barcelona champion Martin Schleich from Germany, who is in second place with 762,000. EPT8 Player of the Year Ondrej Vinklarek from the Czech Republic lies in third with 737,000.

British Poker Pro Nigel Goldman Vanishes Amidst Embezzlement Fears

Nigel Goldman, a British poker pro popular on the big name tournament circuit, has gone missing from his Costa Del Sol, Spain mansion.

It’s not just Goldman who has gone missing, however.  Some by £2.5m in clients funds have also vanished.

The warning signs may have been there from the get-go.

Poker Pro Dario Sammartino Leads at EPT 10 Deauville Main Event

Italian pro Dario Sammartino is leading the remaining 137 players as we go in to Day 3 of the EPT Deauville Main Event. The 26-year-old, who was third in the FPS High Roller a few days ago for €63,800 and fourth in the UKIPT London Main Event in October, has 427,200, closely followed by EPT Loutraki champion Zimnan Ziyard with 392,500. His biggest live cash to date was runner-up at IPT Sanremo in October for €95,000.

Chris Day Leads at Even of Day 1A of EPT 10 Deauville Main Event

British player Chris Day has a super-narrow lead over Finland's Jorma Nuutinen at the end of Day 1a of the EPT Deauville Main Event tonight. Day has 154,100 to Nuutinen's 154,000. There are 134 players who made it through today from the 234-strong starting field including Team PokerStars Pros Eugene Katchalov and Marcin Horecki.

The EPT has joined forces with the national France Poker Series to create a mega ten-day, 45-event EPT Deauville Poker Festival, running January 22 - February 1, 2014 at Casino Barriere.

Dominik Panka Wins PCA Main Event 2014 for Over $1.4 Million

The European Poker Tour got its first-ever Polish champion today when PokerStars online qualifier Dominik Panka defeated Mike McDonald heads-up to take down the $10,000 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event. Georgios Karakousis Leads for Day 2 of EPT Prague High Roller Event

EPT London runner-up Georgios Karakousis was chip leader at the start of Day 2 of the record-breaking €10k EPT High Roller. In London, the 63-year-old took £349,200 home to Greece after being beaten heads-up by Robin Ylitalo. Here in Prague, he just finished fourth in the €2k Eureka Prague High Roller for €58,000.

Damon Shulenberger Wins Longest Poker Tournament in History

American Damon Shulenberger has won the longest poker tournament in history, a grueling 48 hour event. 

The APT-RWM Iron Man Poker Challenge officially took 48 hours, 55 minutes, and 58.5 seconds.  Shulenberger’s accomplishment surpassed that of Korean player Choi Byung Kyoo.

Georgescu Leads at End of EPT Prague Day 1A

Romanian player Georgescu Tiberi-Florian is leading the 210 players who have made it through Day 1a of the EPT 10 Prague Main Event. Also among the chip leaders are Ronny Voth, Joao Simao, Sebastian Saffari and Simon Mattsson. The tourney started at noon with 389 players.
