PokerStars Unveils Biggest Ever SCOOP Championship With $40 Mil Guaranteed

ONCHAN, Isle of Man – PokerStars today released the official schedule for the Spring Championship of Online Poker 2014, which at 45 events – 135 tournaments across Low, Medium and High stakes – will be the biggest ever.

SCOOP 2014 will run from May 4-18 and guarantee $40 million. For the first time ever there will be three events every day of the championship, re-entry tournaments, and Progressive Super-Knockouts, which have proved very popular in recent online championships.

The highlight of the championship is the Main Event, which will take place on May 18 at 14.30 ET, with buy-ins of $109 (Low), $1,050 (Medium) and $10,300 (High), and guarantees of $1m, $2m and $3m respectively. In addition, there is a $21,000 High Roller Heads-Up tournament on May 17 that should attract many of the world’s top players and make for a great event to watch.

Last year’s SCOOP Leader Board (High) winner, and second in the Overall Leader Board, was Team PokerStars Pro George Danzer (see attached picture). The German player said: “SCOOP is such a great series because the three-tier buy-in championship gives players of all levels the chance to take part in such a prestigious series. This year I’ll be aiming to go one better and finish top of the Overall Leader Board and add to my collection of three SCOOP bracelets.”
