Sebastien Hattab Leads After Day 3 of 2015 FPS Deauville Main Event

Sebastien Hattab is chip leader going in to Day 3 of the record-breaking FPS Deauville Main Event. The 37-year-old Frenchman has 723,000. There are 152 players still in contention for the €197,000 first prize and all those going in to Day 3 tomorrow are guaranteed at least €2,000.

They include Team PokerStars Pro Online’s Ronan Monfort with 121,000, Argentinia’s Ivan Luca, Belgium’s Gaelle Garcia Diaz, international chess master Gaby Livshitz, Italian pro Alessio Isaia and EPT Vienna finalist and WSOP bracelet winner Simeon Naydenov. 48 players have already been paid out following an hour-long bubble which kicked off in the penultimate level of the day. There were 1,355 entries in the €1,1000 event, generating a massive €1,300,800 prize pool with €197,000 for first. 


CARLSSON WINS €500 PLO 
Swedish player Daniel Carlsson has won the EPT Deauville €500 PLO Turbo for €18,910 after defeating a massive 166-strong field. Today's victory brings his live tournament winnings to date to nearly $170,000; his best live result was three years ago when he was runner-up in the €1k Greek Cup at EPT Loutraki for €43,900. There were 23 players in the money in the PLO, all snagging a share of a €81,340 prize pool. Among those who cashed were Team PokerStars Pro Online’s Gabriel Nassif, fifth for €5,610, EPT regular Mikhail Korotkikh, EPT Prague champion Salvatore Bonavena and French veteran Bernard Boutboul.

The EPT Deauville Poker Festival is taking place in an annexe of Casino Barrière (the Deauville International Centre) from January 28 - February 7, 2015.

Yet again, the EPT is joining forces with the national France Poker Series to create a mega 11-day, 47-event festival in Deauville. The FPS Main Event kicks off January 28, the FPS €2k High Roller starts on January 31 and the €5,300 EPT begins February 1. In addition to the title and cash prize, the winner of EPT Deauville will receive an exclusive watch worth more than €5,000 from luxury Swiss brand SLYDE, the Official Watch Sponsor for EPT Season 11 Main Events and High Rollers.

More than 100 players have qualified for EPT Deauville Poker Festival including PCA 2014 champion Dominik Panka, FPS Amneville winner Ben Dobson, EPT7 London champion David Vamplew, Argentine star Ivan Luca, EPT7 Copenhagen winner Michael Tureniec, Joao Viera – who is still leading the EPT Player of the Year race - and TV producer Alexandre Amiel who finished 12th last year, plus EPT champions Anton Wigg, Jannick Wrang and Kevin MacPhee.

Team PokerStars Pros who will be competing in the EPT Deauville Main Event include Jake Cody (who won EPT Deauville in Season 6 for €847,000), ElkY, Christophe and Matthias de Meulder, Eugene Katchalov, WSOP Player of the Year George Danzer, Jan Heitmann, Julien Brecard and Marcin Horecki. ElkY, Katchalov, Horecki, Brecard and both De Meulders are all also confirmed to compete in the €1,100 FPS Main Event as well.
