Full Tilt Poker Montreal Festival Main Event Attracts Record Field

Montreal, Canada –– The Full Tilt Poker Montreal Festival Main Event has set a new Canadian attendance record for number of entrants in a tournament with a buy-in of C$1,000 or higher. The festival’s headline event has surpassed the C$1 million guarantee by a long shot, attracting 1,625 entrants to create a total prize pool of C$1,576,250.

The winner will walk away from Playground Poker Club with C$260,582 and the Main Event title.

Brad Albrinck Wins World Series of Poker Circuit Cincinnati 2013

Brad Albrinck has won the 2013 World Series of Poker Circuit Cincinnati and the $221,994 prize that goes along with it.

Prior to this win, the local Cincinnati player had amassed just over $60,000 on the live circuit with three cashouts.

Anthony Zinno wins WPT Borgata Poker Open 2013: Beats Vanessa Selbst

Anthony Zinno was declared the winner of this year’s WPT Borgata Poker Open and walks away with a cool $825,099 as a result.

Zinno bested one of the leading female poker pros Vanessa Selbst, who earned $492,569 for her second place finish.

Boston’s Zinno had nearly a half million in live tournament winnings heading into the 2013 WPT Borgata Poker Open with 42 cashes.  This is his first win on the sanctioned tournament circuit.

Selbst is closing in on $8 million in live tournament earnings with her Borgata Open cashout.

Latin American Poker Pro Leo Fernandez Suspended by PokerStars

One of Latin America’s top poker players, Leo Fernandez, has been suspended from the Team PokerStars roster until the conclusion of an investigation.  Fernandez is alleged to have violated Latin American Poker Tour terms and conditions.  The violation in question was not immediately specified as of press time late Thursday.

"Leo made a big mistake that we didn't agree and of which we cannot speak right now," said Reinaldo Venegas, a PokerStars representative.

Tom “hitthehole” Middleton has won the EPT Barcelona Main Event - Spain’s richest ever poker tournament - for a massive first prize of €942,000.

Middleton, who was chip leader for the last thee nights of the €5,300 event, is a high-stakes online player with numerous big scores to his name, including third in a WCOOP $500 rebuy event. He also has a string of live tournament results with winnings totalling nearly $1 million. He won his seat to EPT Barcelona on PokerStars in June.

PokerStars Unveils 2013 Asia Championship of Poker Schedule

MACAU, China -- "PokerStars LIVE Macau" has officially released its schedule for the Second Annual Asia Championship of Poker (ACOP), which takes place in Macau from Oct. 18-Nov. 3.

Hungarian player Sandor Demjan leads the €50,000 Super High Roller at the end of Day 1.

Registration for the event is open until the start of Day 2, so final numbers are yet to be determined however there were 39 unique players today, with ten re-entries.
