Week 3 of the NFL season opens with the Broncos traveling to Cincinnati to face the Bengals in their first away game of the year. Denver has been declared a 3.5 underdog in this match despite their 2-0 record. This week will the iron test for rookie QB Siemian, if he can win against the Bengals at home he will dispel every doubt that he is in fact worthy of his position.  LIVE IN-PLAY WAGERING IS AVAILABLE ON THIS GAME

Siemian has put up two impressive starts so far, but as his critics like to point out both of them have been at home, he has yet to play in a stadium where the fans will be against him. I feel he has demonstrated enough composure and smarts thus far and I don’t feel his performance will be much different in this scenario, which should make for one hell of a good game to watch.

This will be the Bengal’s opening game at home and they are expected to be fired up for it, not only to please their loyal fans but also to recover from a devastating loss to their bitter rivals the Steelers last Sunday, Cincinnati needs this win in order to stay in the AFC North race, otherwise they can pretty much kiss their chances away.

Having said that, given the last performances from both teams, I feel Denver is the better team at this point. Their defense has demonstrated they are every bit as good as expected and offensively they have taken everyone by surprise, so even without the home field advantage they will still pose a huge threat to the Bengals.

Want my arguments to support this claim?

Let’s start with the Bengals offense, running backs Jeremy Hill and Giovani Bernard had a good outing against the Jets but failed to impressed against the Steelers, that is not say these guys won’t be throwing 1-2 punches during the game, but the Broncos defensive end Derek Wolfe and the front 7 are known for being top run defenders and should be able to contain the Bengals dynamic duo.

Bengal’s QB Andy Dalton has been feeling the pressure lately and against the Denver defensive lineup he will be feeling it a lot more. Cincinnati should be especially careful with linebacker Von Miller; they need to double up their coverage on him to protect Dalton who by my estimates should be hit and sacked quite a few times during this game. In fact, you should put some money on the over total sacks. The other problem the Bengals offense faces is Denver’s #NoFlyZone which will force Dalton to throw short passes that could be picked up by the defense who is certainly going to run with it.

Now let’s move on to the Broncos offense, early season predictions expected Cinci to just walk all over the newbie quarterback in this game, and they had good reason to think so, but, nobody expected Siemian to perform as well as he has thus far, nor were they expecting the Bengals front 7 to fall short. Notwithstanding, the Bengals should have the advantage here, I expect this bunch to wake up early in the game and set down the rules, this game won’t be an easy one for Denver, but in the end they will cover the spread if not win outright.
