Our friends at AceSportsbook.com have your Colts vs. Broncos Week 2 betting predictions.

I wonder how Payton Manning feels about Sunday’s game between the Indianapolis Colts and the Denver Broncos, both his former teams and each gave him a Super Bowl ring. Considering how things ended with Indianapolis my guess is he is rooting for the Broncos.

The Colts are making it a tradition to drop their opening game, they have done so three seasons in a row, which means they enter week two in search of their first win of the season, to do so they need to seriously change their game plan.

The Colt’s quarterback Andrew Luck gave a stellar performance last week, he completed 66 percent of his passes for a whopping 385 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions, plus adding another 21 yards on three carries, but despite his efforts the team simply could not hold up on the defensive side.

The Indianapolis defense was so weak they allowed 37 points against and a grand total of 448 yards, that comes out to an average of 7 yards per play. They also failed to force a turnover and managed only one sack in the entire game. All of this happened, partly because some of their key players including T.J. Green and Patrick Robinson were forced out of the game due to injuries; so there is hope for them to re-group and get back on track once their lineup is whole again, but the bad news is both of those players are questionable for the game against the Broncos on Sunday.

On the Bronco’s side, the defending champions are looking good, their rookie quarterback Trevor Siemian gave a solid performance against the Panthers, he was not without fault though and that was to be expected, but he held his own and made smart gutsy choices you normally would not expect from a rookie which leads me to believe this kid has a great career ahead of him as he continues to improve.

Historically the Colts have the upper hand against the Broncos, Indianapolis has won 8 out of the last 10 games played against Denver including both games from last season. But in order to beat a defensive team such as Denver the Colts need to come in strong offensively and desperately improve their defensive lineup because Siemian and the rest of the Broncos offense have proven they are no push overs.

The Broncos strong point continues to be their defense, which has suffered little to no changes from the winning defensive team of last season. They are known for being mentally strong and finding a way to intimidate their opponents, in their last game this tactic proved very successful, they managed to sack Newton three times and hit him another eight, as well as continuously tormenting him in almost every play. There is no indication that they will let up against Luck and the Colts in this game so this has to be a concern for Indianapolis, they need to figure out a way to protect Luck as much as possible if they want a chance at winning this game.

Given that the Colts defensive line will once again be shorthanded they will have a hard time against the Broncos and will probably end up losing the game, now the football gambling line on the Broncos at -6 is way out of proportion, I predict the Broncos will win 20-17.
