Florida Gators

A pivotal game for Florida, albeit this is a mismatch.  College football betting odds for Florida vs. Florida State had Florida as much as a -17 road favorite at Florida State (these odds were found at Sportsinteraction.com).  The betting public was all over the Gators nonetheless.

Though Florida has won the last 4 in this series, they have not won by more than 7 points on the road against FSU.  Interestingly enough, these teams have split the series over the last 10 games.

There are some really good trends in this game that should be considered prior to placing a wager.

The Gators are 8-0 ATS against a team with a winning home record, 13-3 ATS against a team with a winning record overall and 7-0 ATS on the road. The Seminoles are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games following a SU win of more than 20 points.  Ouch!

Florida has owned Florida State recently, so the Seminoles would enjoy nothing better than knocking the Gators out of the national championship race. No matter what happens against Florida State on Saturday, the second-ranked Gators will play No. 1 Alabama in the Southeastern Conference championship game next week.

"There will be no discussions about the national title or Alabama this week," stated Florida coach Urban Meyer. "The discussions will be about playing one of the most improved teams in the country that is playing very well."

This was one of the most bet on college football games heading into Saturday.  91 percent of the betting public was on Florida in fact.

Iowa State: Are They The Underdogs To Look For In March Madness?

They may be defined as “underdogs” or “Cinderella teams”, a term that is usually saved for teams that have little to no chance of winning even a single game during the NCAA Tournament. Teams like Loyola Marymount (1990), George Mason (2006), Davidson (2008), VCU (2011), UConn (2014), and Loyola Chicago (2018) come to mind when conversations turn toward the most surprising tournament runs in recent memory.
