While USC and its very heavy favorite status continued to attract sports bettors, Georgia vs. South Carolina - a 3:30 pm EST affair, was getting the most action as of Friday night.

BetUS.com had the Georgia Bulldogs at -7 on the road against the South Carolina Gamecocks. Half the online sports books have this one at -7 while the other half has the line set at -7 ½. The -7 line is the lowest this one has gone since opening at -8.

Gambling911.com has determined this line to be accurate and it wouldn't surprise any of us to see the game fall on either the number 6 or the number 8.

The books want action on South Carolina though. 95 percent of the action was on the Bulldogs spread and another 90 percent was on Georgia winning outright on the -300 money line. Again, this is a blood bath for the books if Georgia covers. They seem to have a strong opinion on SC being able to cover - the likelihood of Georgia winning by only 6 or less points. At the same time, they simply do not have a lot of wiggle room to move this line in a way where they can get hurt from people betting both sides.

Reason why the books may be semi confident of a South Carolina cover:

Steve Spurrier loves to beat the Georgia Bulldogs, and he's done it with regularity as a coach. He had a losing record (1-2) against the Dogs as a player, including a 27-10 setback that snapped a seven-game Florida winning streak in 1966, the year Spurrier won the Heisman Trophy.

He has a 12-3 record as a coach against Georgia, 11-1 while he was at Florida and 1-2 at South Carolina, his current post. Last year the Gamecocks beat Georgia 16-12.

"Georgia really doesn't have any weaknesses on offense, defense or special team play," Spurrier said. "They're a very good team."

He's right. The Bulldogs are ranked No. 2 in the nation with a 2-0 record, but really haven't been tested. Carolina's defense will test them.

The Bulldogs are likely to unleash a much stronger attack compared to last year with a more experienced quarterback Matthew Stafford and running back Knowshon Moreno.

BetUS.com had an Over/Under on the 43 ½.

Iowa State: Are They The Underdogs To Look For In March Madness?

They may be defined as “underdogs” or “Cinderella teams”, a term that is usually saved for teams that have little to no chance of winning even a single game during the NCAA Tournament. Teams like Loyola Marymount (1990), George Mason (2006), Davidson (2008), VCU (2011), UConn (2014), and Loyola Chicago (2018) come to mind when conversations turn toward the most surprising tournament runs in recent memory.
