When was the last time Notre Dame won a bowl game you ask?  It was 1993 in the Cotton Bowl as they defeated Texas A&M 24-21.  Since that time the Irish have lost an NCAA record nine straight bowl games. "Breaking our bowl streak, that's very, very important," tailback Armondo Allen said, "That's something we always talk about, starting a new trend. And we can start it right here in Hawaii." SBG Global reports that early College Football betting has the public taking Notre Dame on the Road.

Notre Dame is in a bowl game but most people don't believe they belong in one.  They are 6-6 and haven't beaten anyone. Hawaii on the other hand is looking for their fourth straight Hawaii Bowl victory. They are also playing their best football of the season. "We're playing our best football right now," head coach Greg McMackin said, "We're playing more of the type of football that we want to be known for. This is a period or exclamation point for the season."  The Warriors have been a tough home team through the years, something Notre Dame is well aware of. "Hawaii is 20-3 the last three years here," Notre Dame kicker Brandon Walker said. "We know what we're up against and we know a win would give us great momentum for next year."

Notre Dame is making its 29th bowl appearance overall.  It is their second postseason appearance in Hawaii as they lost to SMU in the 1984 Aloha Bowl.  The Irish have played Hawaii twice in the past and won both times. They defeated Hawaii 48-42 in 1991 and 23-22 in 1997.  The Warriors are 5-3 in bowl games and they are 3-1 in the Hawaii Bowl. Here are the College Football betting stats for Wednesday's game. Iowa State: Are They The Underdogs To Look For In March Madness?

They may be defined as “underdogs” or “Cinderella teams”, a term that is usually saved for teams that have little to no chance of winning even a single game during the NCAA Tournament. Teams like Loyola Marymount (1990), George Mason (2006), Davidson (2008), VCU (2011), UConn (2014), and Loyola Chicago (2018) come to mind when conversations turn toward the most surprising tournament runs in recent memory.
