What we have found here at Gambling911.com is that Ian Poulter is not getting the same type of love at the US facing online sportsbooks that he is getting from those based in Europe.

Case in point:  Sunday morning Sportingbet.com had Poulter with 25/1 odds while their US-facing counterpart, BetUS.com, offered Poulter with odds of 35/1 (listed as +3500).   The payout at BetUS.com was a whole US$1000 more.

"European punters are allowed to bet at BetUS.com," Gambling911.com Senior Editor, Payton O'Brien, said.  "His Open Championship odds pay that much better, why not give him a shot at BetUS.com."

And Poulter indeed has a shot of winning the tournament.

Poulter is an English golfer who is a member of the world's top two professional golf tours, the U.S. based PGA Tour and the European Tour. He is the touring professional for Woburn Golf and Country Club which is situiated in Buckinghamshire.

His highest placement in a Major Championship was 2nd at the 2008 Open Championship, hence, the reason why he has such short odds.

On Playing This Year's Open Championship Course: "I haven't played a lot of the Open courses until the week that I've actually been there and I seem to do OK. I did pretty well at Birkdale last year [he finished runner-up to Padraig Harrington].

"As long as you do your homework, so you know the layout and how the course is going to be set up, and you've played at least one practice round, it's just about executing the shots that you have pre-planned."

Entrepreneur, clothes-horse, Arsenal fan, fast cars, fast mouth, this is how Tom Cary of the Telegraph describes Poulter.

"Occasionally his mouth lands him in hot water. On the day we met he got into a row with tournament organisers in France after berating a photographer, while his tendency to shoot from the hip is perhaps best illustrated by a notorious interview given to Golf World in March 2008 in which he was quoted as saying that, once he got his game together, it would be "just me and Tiger".

He groans at the memory. "Let's not even go there. But seriously, that is why I feel the public like me. I wear my heart on my sleeve and I'm honest. You can't be PC all the time. I have a great fanbase and get a lot of positive feedback. I think that after the Open and the Ryder Cup I'm portrayed in the right way by the British press."

Ian Poulter Open Championship Odds were available at BetUS.com but if you elect to stick with the European-based bookmakers, Sportingbet.com is the place to bet.

Iowa State: Are They The Underdogs To Look For In March Madness?

They may be defined as “underdogs” or “Cinderella teams”, a term that is usually saved for teams that have little to no chance of winning even a single game during the NCAA Tournament. Teams like Loyola Marymount (1990), George Mason (2006), Davidson (2008), VCU (2011), UConn (2014), and Loyola Chicago (2018) come to mind when conversations turn toward the most surprising tournament runs in recent memory.
