Two of the hottest goalies in the NHL face off against each other on Thursday as Tim Thomas and the Boston Bruins are in Calgary to play Miikka Kiprusoff and the Flames.  This NHL betting preview of the Boston Bruins vs. Calgary Flames is brought to you by SBG Global

SBG Global Opening Line: Flames  -  140  ,  Total  5.5  Under - 14

The Bruins are looking to complete a perfect three game road trip while the Flames are looking to win their fifth straight overall. Thomas has posted back to back shutouts for the Bruins.  He made 31 saves in a 1-0 win over Vancouver on Tuesday. SBG Global reports that early Hockey betting has the public taking Flames at Home.

Kiprusoff has only allowed five goals during Calgary's four-game winning streak.  He got his first shutout of the season on Tuesday in a 3-0 win over Colorado.  It was the 27th of his career. He only faced two shots in the final period against the Avalanche. "Two shots, that's unbelievable in a close game like that," Kiprusoff said, "We got the lead there and we were able to shut them down. Those are huge points for us."  The last time Boston played at Calgary they were stoned by Kiprusoff who shut them out in a 3-0 win back in 2005.  The most recent meeting between the two teams was in Boston two years ago as the Bruins won 3-2.

Boston has not won at Calgary in more than ten years.  They are 0-3-0 with one tie since winning back in 1997.  Here are more Hockey betting stats for Thursday's game. The Bruins are 8-3 in their last 11 vs. the Western Conference.

The Flames are 4-0 in their last 4 overall. The Flames are 9-4 in their last 13 home games. The Flames are 8-20 in their last 28 Thursday games. The Flames are 0-4 in their last 4 vs. the Northeast. The home team is 5-1-1 in the last 7 meetings between the two teams.

SBG Global Current Line: Flames  -  145  ,  Total  5.5  Under - 140

The Over is 5-1 in the Bruins last 6 Thursday games. The Under is 9-2-1 in the Bruins last 12 vs. the Northwest. The Under is 22-8-2 in the Bruins last 32 vs. Western Conference. The Under is 36-15-4 in the Bruins last 55 vs. a team with a winning record. The Under is 4-1 in the Flames last 5 overall. The Under is 6-2-2 in the Flames last 10 vs. the Northeast.

Iowa State: Are They The Underdogs To Look For In March Madness?

They may be defined as “underdogs” or “Cinderella teams”, a term that is usually saved for teams that have little to no chance of winning even a single game during the NCAA Tournament. Teams like Loyola Marymount (1990), George Mason (2006), Davidson (2008), VCU (2011), UConn (2014), and Loyola Chicago (2018) come to mind when conversations turn toward the most surprising tournament runs in recent memory.
