This NBA betting preview of the Houston Rockets vs. Washington Wizards game is brought to you by SBG Global, where the line opened at Rockets  - 5.5 , Total 182.5.

The Washington Wizards will try and turn things around as they host the Houston Rockets on Friday.  The Wizards are off to a miserable 1-8 start this season and head coach Eddie Jordan has seen enough.  He made some lineup changes on Wednesday, putting rookie JaVale McGee in place of Etan Thomas and Dee Brown in place of Juan Dixon.  The Wizards still lost though, falling to Atlanta 91-87.  Caron Butler had 32 points in that game for Washington and he leads the team in scoring at 20.8 points per game. SBG Global reports that early NBA betting has the public taking Rockets on the Road.

The Houston Rockets will look to bounce back from a loss to Dallas on Wednesday in a game that center Yao Ming missed.  Yao is expected to return to the starting lineup in this game against the Wizards.  Yao leads the Rockets in scoring at 16.9 points per game.  Yao has played great in the past against Washington, averaging 30.5 points per game.  Overall, the Rockets have won the last six meetings against Washington.

The Rockets did not get a good shooting performance out of Tracy McGrady or Ron Artest on Wednesday against Dallas.  They combined to go 10 for 28. "It's going to take (McGrady) some time - you hope it's just going to get better as he doesn't have pain or anything," Rockets coach Rick Adelman said. "But it's definitely affected him and it certainly affects us, too, because we're so used to him with the ball in his hands and finding people."

Here are the NBA betting stats for Friday's game. The Rockets are 22-8 ATS in their last 30 Friday games. The Rockets are 20-8-1 ATS in their last 29 vs. the Southeast. The Rockets are 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Washington.

The Wizards are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Wizards are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games. The Wizards are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 Friday games.

Iowa State: Are They The Underdogs To Look For In March Madness?

They may be defined as “underdogs” or “Cinderella teams”, a term that is usually saved for teams that have little to no chance of winning even a single game during the NCAA Tournament. Teams like Loyola Marymount (1990), George Mason (2006), Davidson (2008), VCU (2011), UConn (2014), and Loyola Chicago (2018) come to mind when conversations turn toward the most surprising tournament runs in recent memory.
