Joel Quenneville returns to Colorado for the first time as head coach of the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday.  Chicago is 12-4-6 since Quenneville replaced Denis Savard as head coach.  Quenneville was fired as head coach of the Avalanche in May after the team did not get past the second round of the playoffs.  Quenneville faced his old team last month but that game was in Chicago as the Blackhawks won 6-2.  This will be the first time he has been back at the Pepsi Center. "It's tricky, kind of like playing against your old buddies, but at the same time we mean business," Quenneville said. SBG Global reports that early hockey betting has the public taking  Blackhawks on the Road.

Colorado has won four straight at home while the Blackhawks are 3-0-1 in their last four games. "It'll be a good test going into that building," Quenneville said. "We want to keep playing the same way." Nikolai Khabibulin is expected to be back in goal for Chicago on Friday. He is 7-1-4 this season but he is only 1-3-0 with a 4.06 goals-against average in his last four games in Colorado.

The Avalanche have scored four or more goals in four of their past six games. "I think we just went through a stretch where we had a tough time scoring goals," head coach Tony Granato said. "I think through a season you're going to have stretches like that."  Colorado is 3-1-2 in the last six meetings at the Pepsi Center versus Chicago.

Here are the hockey betting stats for Friday's game. The Blackhawks are 33-68-4 in their last 105 vs. the Northwest. The Blackhawks are 4-11-2 in the last 17 meetings in Colorado.
