Ron's Straight Up Record: 14 wins 13 losses for (52%)

*Note: Ron went 9-4 (SU) on Saturday and 1-2 (SU) on Sunday.

St.Louis vs. Toronto

Ron's Comment: Now that Ron Wilson has turned the attention on to the media and not their 6-1 spanking to the Habs on Saturday night, look for the Leafs to rebound at home vs. the Blues. Toronto is 7-2 SU as a home favorite after losing by 5 or more goals the last 5 years. Manny Legacy will get the nod for the Blues and look for Toskala to be in nets for the Buds.

Prediction: Toronto 3 St.Louis 1

Buffalo vs. NY Islanders

Ron's Comment: Totals players beware; the UNDER is 14-3-4 for the Islanders when they play as an Underdog the last 3 years and they won their last game by 3 Goals or More. Ryan Miller vs. Joey MacDonald looks to be the head to head goaltending battle and the Sabres could be in a flat spot after their 2-1 shootout win over the highly touted Habs last Friday night.

Prediction: Buffalo 3 NY Islanders 2

Montreal vs. Philadelphia

Ron's Comment: Probably the best value play on the board tonight, as Montreal are coming off a 6-1 route over Toronto this past Saturday night and come into Philly with Revenge on their mind. Philly eliminated Montreal last season in the playoffs and this could be a motivational tactic for Montreal Head Coach Guy Carbonneau. Plus, the Flyers are 4-10 (SU) the last 2 years as a Favorite and lost their last game by 1 Goal. Look for Carey Price to be back between the pipes tonight, as Jaroslav Halak was in nets Saturday.

Prediction: Montreal 5 Philadelphia 3

New Jersey vs. New York Rangers

Ron's Comment: Best game of the night! The 4-0 NY Rangers host the 2-0 New Jersey Devils and Brodeur has lost 5 of the last 6 games vs. the Rangers. The Rangers showed some team character on Saturday night, as they built a 4-0 lead vs. the Flyers and hung on for a 4-3 win. The Devils need a bit of luck to beat the Penguins on Saturday night, as Penguins Defenseman Hal Gill put the puck in his own net and the Devils won in overtime on a nice Zach Parise shot. Many of my ATS Database stats have the Devils winning this game, but this is a new Rangers team and they are exciting to watch. Many of my numbers have this game going under the total, but I see the public piling on the under and I look for this game to finish with an empty netter to make this game go over the total.

Prediction: NY Rangers 4 New Jersey 2

Detroit vs. Carolina

Ron's Comment: Ty Conklin is expected to get the nod tonight for the Red Wings and Cam Ward for the Hurricanes. Detroit has looked sluggish in their first 2 games of the year and the Canes are coming off an exciting 4-3 win over Tampa Bay. Tough to go against a talented team like Detroit in this spot and considering the Canes are coming off an emotional win over Tampa Bay, makes me look at the Wings tonight. Plus, when a Detroit team played as a road favorite on 1 days rest during the month of October; the Red Wings are 15-4-1 SU since '96 in this spot.

Prediction: Detroit 3 Carolina 2

Vancouver vs. Washington

Ron's Comment: I'm pretty sure the Canucks are happy to see another team right about now, as they just came off two physical games vs. the Calgary Flames and won both games in the process. Vancouver has won the last 3 games vs. the Capitals and it's expected Luongo will get the nod tonight. Washington has looked like a huge defensive risk in their first 2 games and needed some 3rd period magic to pull out a 4-2 win over Chicago on Saturday. Plus, with the Penguins on deck, this could be a look a head game for Ovechkin who always takes his head to head battle with Crosby a bit personal.

Prediction: Vancouver 4 Washington 1

Nashville vs. Chicago

Ron's Comment: Home opener for the Blackhawks and Huet is expected to get the call tonight vs. Dan Ellis and the Predators. Nashville is coming off a 3-1 win over Dallas and could be a bit flat in this one. Chicago has won the last 3 head to head meetings and 10-1-0 for the Predators as a road underdog when the total is 5.5 on 1 days rest and they are playing their 3rd game in 4 nights. However, I believe fatigue will play a role for the Preds tonight and I expect Barry Trotz to play more defensive in this game.

Prediction: Chicago 3 Nashville 2
