Pittsburgh Steelers

Another of the more anticipated games of this weekend, the San Diego Chargers vs. Pittsburgh Steelers betting odds opened at Pittsburgh -3 and have since moved all the way up to -5 just about everywhere including Bookmaker.com

Pittsburgh has won 4 of the last 5 in this series but lost the last game they played by 10 points on the road.  Pittsburgh has won their last 3 home games against the Chargers by more than the current spread.  With the exception of the 1994 AFC Championship game in Pittsburgh, the Steelers are 12-0 at home during the regular season against the Chargers.  That is a very impressive stat to say the least.

San Diego is 15-4-1 ATS against the AFC in their last 20 games, which is quite an impressive stat.  They are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games however.

The Steelers lost a hard fought battle against the Indianapolis Colts last weekend.

Manning took advantage of Roethlisberger's fourth quarter interception to find Dominic Rhodes out of the backfield on a 17-yard touchdown pass with 3:04 remaining for Indianapolis' only lead, and the Colts rallied in a virtual must-win game to beat the Steelers 24-20 on Sunday.

Struggling to stay afloat in a crowded playoff hunt, the Indianapolis Colts are finding help in the unlikeliest of places, Jeffri Chadiha writes.

Manning also hit Reggie Wayne on a 65-yard touchdown pass play on a tipped ball that wasn't well thrown and Dallas Clark on a 2-yard scoring pass six seconds before halftime following an unnecessary interception by Roethlisberger, helping end the Colts' 40-year losing streak in Pittsburgh.

"Coach [Mike] Tomlin told us all week they are a team that likes to score before the half and at the end of the game," Steelers linebacker James Farrior said. "That's what happened to us."

The Chargers switched defensive coordinators before their Week 9 bye, but there was little change in the team's defense last week as Thigpen threw three touchdown passes. The Chargers will look to pressure Ben Roethlisberger, who has been knocked around this season and has thrown eight interceptions in his last three games.

The running backs: Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson and Steelers running back Willie Parker have not lived up to the lofty expectations they have set during their Pro Bowl careers. Tomlinson hasn't missed a game, and Parker is expected to return to practice this week and play.

With the Chargers losing most of their road games with the exception of Oakland, we really have a tough time believing that they can somehow beat a good team on the road that they have not been able to beat in their last 12 regular season head-to-heads in Pittsburgh.  In addition to beating Oakland on the road, San Diego lost by a single point in Denver.  All other games were lost by the current spread or more.

Gambling911.com really likes Pittsburgh at -5 in this one.
