Texas Tech

The Texas Tech vs. Kansas odds opened at -2 and -2 ½ depending on the online sports book.

Since 1996 the away team has gone 5-1 and Texas Tech has gone 5-1 in this series. While the two teams have split Against The Spread, it should be noted that Kansas has been a +6 or greater underdog. Texas Tech's last win on the road against Kansas was by a mere 1 point when Kansas was a 6 point home underdog. The 2 points is some comfortable wiggle room heading into this coming weekend being that Texas Tech is 7-0 and Kansas is 5-2. The Jayhawks two losses came at the hands of two top teams.

The Red Raiders are 11-4 ATS in their last 15 games after allowing less than 100 yards rushing in their previous game. The Jayhawks are 20-6 ATS in their last 26 games following a ATS win, 13-3 ATS in their last 16 conference games, and 21-8 ATS in their last 29 home games. All impressive stats but we get back to the past history between these two teams and the fact that Texas Tech is undefeated thus far.

No. 7 Texas Tech (7-0, 3-0 in Big 12) put together its best second half performance of the season to win its fourth straight game over Texas A&M (2-5, 0-3) and second straight at Kyle Field, with a 43-25 victory Saturday.

The Red Raiders outscored Texas A&M 23-2 in the second half while overcoming three turnovers and a three-point deficit at halftime.

"I thought everything that could go wrong did in the first half," Tech coach Mike Leach said. "We allowed ourselves to get frustrated. Part of it is going out there and just running around and expecting good things to happen. We did that the second half."

Something else to consider with the Red Raiders. This is a "must win" for Texas Tech. Kansas is an "easy" team compared to what's up next on the schedule. Tech comes back home to begin a three-game stretch against the top 10 teams in the country, beginning with No. 1 Texas in Lubbock. The Red Raiders then face No. 6 Oklahoma State before heading to Norman to face No. 4 Oklahoma.

Iowa State: Are They The Underdogs To Look For In March Madness?

They may be defined as “underdogs” or “Cinderella teams”, a term that is usually saved for teams that have little to no chance of winning even a single game during the NCAA Tournament. Teams like Loyola Marymount (1990), George Mason (2006), Davidson (2008), VCU (2011), UConn (2014), and Loyola Chicago (2018) come to mind when conversations turn toward the most surprising tournament runs in recent memory.
