NFL No Comment on NJ Sports Betting Case Being Heard in US Supreme Court

Legalized sports betting in the state of New Jersey is one step closer with news that the US Supreme Court is set to hear arguments later this year.  The National Football League, that has been steadfast in fighting the state’s attempts, has remained silent.

Mike Florio of NBC Sports notes that “the NFL had plenty to say about its opposition to efforts by New Jersey to legalize sports wagering” prior to this week’s decision by the Supreme Court to hear the case.

The league has declined comment regarding the development, which puts the controversy on the docket for the next Supreme Court term commencing in October.
