Oddsmakers React to FSU Jameis Winston Suspension: Knock 4 Points Off Line vs. C

Florida State University has suspended Heisman Trophy Winner Jameis Winston for the first half against Clemson on Saturday night.   Oddsmakers swiftly cut four points off the -20 to bring this line down to Seminoles -16.5 at Bookmaker by late Wednesday afternoon.   Nearly 75% of the betting action was on Clemson here with the line at -16.5.

FSU benched Winston for making inappropriate sexual remarks towards women deemed to be “offensive and vulgar”.  He will undergo counseling.

The decision was announced Wednesday in a joint statement by Florida State interim President Dr. Garnett S. Stokes and athletic director Stan Wilcox after a number of students tweeted Winston had shouted a lascivious comment about female anatomy that may have derived from an Internet meme.

The president and AD said, "As the university's most visible ambassadors, student-athletes at Florida State are expected to uphold at all times high standards of integrity and behavior that reflect well upon themselves, their families, coaches, teammates, the Department of Athletics and Florida State University. Student-athletes are expected to act in a way that reflects dignity and respect for others."

Winston also apologized on Wednesday.

ACC Digital Network host Jeff Fischel has more details in the video below.
