Final Table for 2023 WPT Poker Showdown Championship

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (May 10, 2023) – Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood concluded its 2023 Poker Showdown on Tuesday, May 2 following a successful three-week run. The Poker Showdown kicked off on Thursday, April 13 and saw 61 primary events and 22,035 total entries, the most in a single series, topping the 2022 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown. The tournament boasted more than $23 million in prize pools.

With 2,290 entries in the WPT Poker Showdown Championship, the final prize pool is more than $7 million, easily exceeding the $3 million guarantee. The field is down to its final six players who will reconvene on Thursday, May 25 in Las Vegas for a televised final table.

Seat 3: Rafael Farah Jarufe – 4,275,000 (14 bb)

Seat 5: Bin Weng – 46,050,000 (154 bb)

Seat 6: Naing Thu – 13,250,000 (44 bb)

1st: $1,128,250 (includes a seat in WPT World Championship)

3rd: $550,000

4th: $413,000

5th: $312,000

6th: $238,000

Poker Showdown kicked off on Thursday, April 13 with the $400 Deep Stack No Limit Hold ‘em series opener. With more than 4,184 entries, the event more than doubled the $500,000 guaranteed, creating a total prize pool of more than $1.3 million. Carlos Loving of Sarasota, Fla. won the opener earning $153,690.

Rick Kalgstein (Sunrise, Fla.) winning the $200 Big Stack NLH (Re-Entry) for $26,177

Vladyslav Shovkovyi (Houston, Texas) winning the $600 Deep Stack NLH (Re-Entry) for $299,715 + Showdown Trophy

Matthew Zarcadoolas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) winning the $2,200 Deep Stack NLH (Re-Entry) for $104,005

Thomas Boivin (St. Julian’s, Malta) winning the $25,500 High-Roller NLH (Re-Entry) for $711,300 + Showdown Trophy

Joseph LeBrun (Baltimore, Md.) winning the $5,000 Deep Stack Eight Handed NLH (Re-Entry) for $223,390

Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown also hosted the “Larry Frank Memorial Charity Event Benefitting Make-A-Wish® Southern Florida” on Thursday, April 27. The charity event was in honor of Larry Frank, with proceeds going to Make-A-Wish® Southern Florida. The event had more than 90 entries and a prize pool of $13,700 + $9,200 in non-cash prizes. Eric Diaz of San Antonio, Texas won the top prize of $5,000 plus a $3,500 seat in the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Championship.
