$5 Sports Bet Pays Out $81,965 in Oregon

The Oregon Lottery has taken $13.1 million in wagers since it launched the sports betting app last month, and this week it had to pay out $81,965 to an individual who only wagered $5.

The player correctly picked 15 Euroleague women and Eurocup women basketball league games, leading to the single biggest payout in the Oregon State Lottery’s brief sports wagering history.  It’s app, Scoreboard, has only been operational for the past couple of weeks.

Oregon's mobile platform does not allow gambling on college sports. 

So far one casino operator has opened a retail sportsbook where betting college football and basketball is permitted at the property's discretion.
