World Series Matchup Decided Monday Night With Rangers in, Diamondbacks-Phillies Series Extended

The betting public believed Philadelphia advances to the World Series and it makes perfect sense.  No team in Major League Baseball has played better at home than the Phillies.  In the end, however, the Diamondbacks pushed this series to a final game with a win in Philadelphia.  Bookies made out like bandits as a result of the 5-1 Arizona victory.

The new micro betting sportsbook Lil Bit had this one at Philadelphia -185 and, as we were on their site, that number shot up to -238.  That's because this game was just getting under way.

With Houston's 9-2 loss to the Rangers on Sunday in Game 6 of the American League Championship Series, we now had an elimination game Monday night in the ALCS. 

Bovada had the total on this game move from 9.5 to 9.  That's an indication they want more money coming in on the OVER.  That makes sense.  64% of the action was indeed on the UNDER in this game.

Max Scherzer is 0-1 with a 11.25 ERA this post season starting for Texas.  Cristian Javier is 2-0 with a 1.69 ERA.  Javier had not allowed a single run in his three previous postseason starts and improved to 4-0 with a 0.82 ERA as a starter in the postseason.

Not surprisingly, Houston was seeing 68% of the action as a -128 favorite. Close to $300K was being bet on Houston compared to around $150K on Texas.

At Bookmaker, this number has not moved an inch. 

In the end, it was the Rangers that advanced to the 2023 World Series.
