Aaron Rodgers Worth 6.5 Points on the Line: Will Miss Chiefs Game Due to Covid
The line on the Packers-Chiefs game has gone from Kansas City -1 to -7.5 following word that Aaron Rodgers will be sitting out this game due to a positive Covid test. Rodgers is believed not to have gotten the vaccination.
Rodgers, 37, commented on COVID-19 vaccine requirements in the NFL at a press conference on August 26, stating “There’s guys on the team that haven’t been vaccinated. I think it’s a personal decision, I’m not going to judge those guys.”
He later added: "I think I like to learn about everything that I'm doing, and there was a lot of research that even went into that. But like I said, there's been people that have tested positive, and I think it's only vaccinated people here. It's going to be interesting to see how things work moving forward. Obviously there could be some issues with vaccinated people only testing every couple weeks and then non-vaccinated testing every day."
ESPN reports that Rodgers had petitioned the NFL to have an "alternative treatment" count as vaccination, but the NFL denied his request and has considered him unvaccinated since the beginning of the 2021-2022 NFL season.
Sources said Rodgers follows masking protocols while interacting with players and coaches inside the team's headquarters at Lambeau Field.
